Popular Procedures for Lung Cancer Treatment

By Dr. Himanshu Garg

Popular-procedural-for-Lung-cancer-Treatment
Lung-Cancer
Lung Cancer is the most fatal and responsible for the most number of deaths among all cancers. But thankfully, it is not beyond treatment, especially in its earlier stages. The best type of Lung Cancer Treatment depends on the stage and nature of the cancer. Appropriateness of the recommended treatment depends on the expertise of the Lung Cancer Specialist and goes a long way into ensuring a successful recovery. This article provides an overview of the most popular methods of treating Lung Cancer and the common side-effects associated with them.

Surgery

Surgery is the most common way of treating Lung Cancer. It involves removal of the tumor along with the affected part of the lung. Though this is a popular step, its feasibility largely depends on the stage of the cancer. Surgery is preferably not opted for, if the cancer has spread to other places. The types of surgery for Lung Cancer are determined by the size of the lung tissue which requires to get removed.
The procedure is termed Wedge Resection when only a small part of the lung has to be removed. Lobectomy or Bilobectomy is the removal of an entire lobe of the lung. In extreme cases, the entire lung may be required to be removed, in which case, it is called Pneumonectomy. Both Thoracotomy (large incision) and VATS or Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (small incision) can be used for Lung Cancer Surgery. The side-effects include complications due to surgery and pain.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation Therapy is used in 3 cases. It is used to shrink the tumor before surgery, kill the remaining cancer cells that may be left after surgery, or as the primary method of Cancer Treatment. Radiation Therapy, as the primary treatment, is mostly used when the cancer has spread too far for surgery to be feasible. The radiations can be administered either from outside the body or from right within the tumor.
Radiation Therapy is however a complicated process with a host of side-effects, like skin reactions, sore throat, nausea, pain, tiredness, etc. Reaction to Radio Therapy is usually quite fast but managing the side-effects is the task of an expert.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy, just like Radiation Therapy, attempts to destroy the cancerous cells. However, in this case, special drugs are used in place of radiation. The drugs are administered through tablets or intravenous lines. Chemotherapy has a huge risk of killing the healthy cells too leading to side effects like appetite loss, hair loss, fatigue, and more. Chemotherapy is being replaced with targeted therapy which is more accurate in attacking the cancerous cells.

Complementary Therapies

Many patients are going for complementary therapies to accompany their regular treatment regime. Techniques like meditation, Yoga, Therapeutic Touch, Ayurved, etc. have shown to lessen the effects of side effects and provide relief. However, it is highly recommended to consult your Lung Specialist on the same.

Consultation

Lung Cancer, being fatal, can take a lot of toll on the mental health of the patient and his near and dear ones. The Top Lung Cancer Treatment Centers have facilities for consultation on the same in their own premises or tie ups with those that provide the same.

The above are the some of the most popular methods that are being used to treat cancer. As further study on the matter brings newer facts to light, we are hopefully moving towards a world where Lung Cancer can kill no more. Till that times, ensure good health for your lungs with regular visits to a Lung Specialist.

Respiratory & Sleep Cure Solutions is a well-known center for Lung Specialist in Gurgaon Delhi. The team of Doctors is led by Dr. Himanshu Garg, a leading Asthma Specialist, and has successfully treated a wide range of Lung Diseases.

Bone Cancer - Types And Symptoms

By Seema Rawat

I took more time to write this article as compared to other articles of mine in order to make it more informative and useful for the readers who want to gather good information about BONE CANCER. I hope my article will provide you the best requirements.

CANCER

Cancer is a dangerous disease which is rapidly increasing day by day. Cancer is not a single disease. Cancers actually are of different types, including, Brain, Breast, Blood, Bladder, Lung, Cervical, Ovarian, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Esophageal, Kidney, Skin, Thyroid, Liver, Uterine, etc.

Cancer begins when cells grow out of control and crowd out normal cells of our body. It can infect any part of the human being. Cancer actually makes hard for the body to work in a normal manner. In fact, sometimes, it becomes hard to save the life of a cancer patient. But, a proper treatment works very well for many people.

HUMAN BODY CELLS

The cells in human bodies have a certain set of jobs. Normal cells divide in an orderly way. They die when they are damaged and a new cell takes their place.

CANCER CELLS

The cancer cells grow out of control and make new cells. They infect normal cells too. The cancer cells cause problems in the part of the body where the cancer started. In fact, they can also spread to other parts of the body.

HOW ARE CANCERS DIFFERENT?

Some cancers grow as well as spread quickly while other cancers grow slowly. In fact, their treatment procedure responds in different manners. Some types of cancer are best treated with surgery while others respond better to drugs called chemotherapy.

The first priority of a doctor is to know about the type of cancer a person is suffering from. After that he continues the treatment procedure accordingly.

BONE CANCER

Bone cancers are of two types which includes primary and secondary bone cancer. A primary bone cancer takes place in the bone while secondary cancer begins elsewhere in the body and then after spreads to the bone of the human body.

TYPES OF BONE CANCER

OSTEOSARCOMA: This is also called as OSTEOGENIC SARCOMA. In fact, it is the most common type of bone cancer and typically begins in bone cells of arms and legs. This type of bone cancer occurs most frequently in a person between the ages of 10 and 30. It is more common in males as compared to females.

CHONDROSARCOMA: It begins in cartilage cells. It is found that it is the second most common form of the bone cancer. It occurs rarely in an individual under the age of 20.

EWING TUMOR: It is also known as Ewing's sarcoma, typically develop in the bones, but can also take place in other tissues as well as muscles. This type of bone cancer is the third most common type of primary bone cancer. This tumor infects children and adolescents.

FIBROSARCOMA TUMOR: This tumor typically forms in the soft tissue around the bones, such as tendons, ligaments and fat or muscle. These types of bone cancer infect in the arms, legs and jaws of adults.

GIANT CELL TUMOR: This tumor has two different forms, including, benign and malignant. It often forms in the arm or leg bones of young and middle-aged adults. This type of cancer rarely spreads to other area of the human body.

CHORDOMA TUMOR: This kind of tumor affects bones in the spine and the base of the skull. It develops most frequently in adults about 30 or older, mostly men. This type of tumor grows slowly with a low risk of spreading to different parts, but may return at the original part if not removed completely during surgery, and may eventually spread to the lungs and liver.

SYMPTOMS OF BONE CANCER

PAIN: Pain in the affected bone is the most common symptom of patients suffering from bone cancer. In the beginning, the pain is not constant. It may be increased at night or when the bone is used due to several activities, like walking and running. As the cancer spreads, the pain will remain all the time.

SWELLING: Swelling in the area of the pain may not take place until a few weeks later. It might be possible to feel a mass or lump depending on the area of the cancer. Tumor in the bones of the neck can lead to lump in the back of the throat that causes trouble in swallowing and breathing.

FRACTURES: Bone cancer weakens the bone it develops in, but most of the time the bones do not fracture. People with a bone fracture often describe sudden pain in a limb that had been sore for a few months.

OTHER SYMPTOMS: Tumor in the bones of the spine can press on nerves which generally tend to numbness and weakness. Cancer may lead to weight loss and fatigue as well. If the cancer grows to internal organs, it may cause other different symptoms. For instance, if the tumor infected to the lung, then an individual may face trouble in breathing.

IMPORTANCE OF TOP MEDICAL UNIVERSITIES IN MEDICAL FIELD

What To Look For With A Trainer?

By G Simkin

What To Look For With A Trainer
Trainer
The idea of a trainer to help you with your fitness goals is exciting. However, you want to take your time to make sure you get someone who is passionate and helpful. They need to be an expert and to be committed to helping you get results. Knowing what to look for can help you with finding the perfect match.

Don't be in a rush when it comes to personal fitness trainers. You aren't going to be happy with someone forcing you do to exercises you don't want to be part of. You aren't going to stick with it if the times aren't compatible with your schedule. With so many options out there, don't limit yourself.

Expertise and Experience

Ask plenty of questions when you search for personal fitness trainers. It is important to find out what experience they have and their areas of ability. They should be skilled in what you need such as muscle-building or weight loss. You need to feel confident they can create a program for you that are realistic and will help you to get results.

If they work for a well-known, reputable fitness centre, that is very encouraging. Still, you should ask the company about their hiring requirements. You need to know you will be well taken care of. You need to know the time and money you invest isn't going to be wasted.

Personal fitness trainers should take the time to make it challenging and fun for you. If the workouts are too easy, you will get bored and not benefit from them. If they are too difficult, you will feel overwhelmed and inadequate. They need to check your progress and increase the level of difficulty at regular intervals as your abilities improve.

Communication

You need to feel comfortable talking to the person you will work with. Communication is essential for you to help from the connection. You aren't going to do well working out with someone who makes you nervous or uncomfortable. Some people find it is easier to have personal fitness trainers who are the same gender as they are.

For others it doesn't matter but if you have a preference, let it be known. You should feel comfortable sharing with them what you would like to carry out and what you are worried about. Make sure you share with them your desired outcomes and any challenges you feel hold you back.

For example, if you have a bad knee or a bad back, they need to know. They can take those limitations into consideration when they help with your customised plan. They may include plenty of low impact exercises to help you get stronger and to avoid causing more pain where you already have some concerns.

Flexibility

Time is a common reason so many people don't work out. You need to look for personal fitness trainers with a flexible schedule to meet your needs. Perhaps you can work out early in the morning. You may need to do it in the afternoon or the evening. It needs to fit your schedule well.

Of course you need to make working out and fitness a priority. If you have too much on your agenda, you will sabotage your own efforts. You need to carve out time for yourself and for this important goal. Don't change those plans unless an emergency comes up.

Cost

You may be surprised at how affordable it is for personal fitness trainers. The cost can vary by place and by provider. Ask about the cost so you know what to expect. The amount of time they will spend with you is often going to influence the cost. The more time you work with them though, the better your results will be!

Embody Fitness is an encouraging and fun place to work out! We challenge you to make changes to your lifestyle and to feel confident about how you look. Our personal trainers will be happy to customize a plan for you that are going to assist you with getting results. How To EASILY Make Your Penis Bigger In Just 6 Minutes

How To EASILY Make Your Penis Bigger In Just 6 Minutes (While You Take A Shower!)

How To EASILY Make Your Penis Bigger In Just 6 Minutes (While You Take A Shower!)

By Anthony Sciuto

You get up in the morning and you start your usual routine. Part of your usual routine includes taking a shower. Except now, you're just simply adding in one extra step to that part of your routine. While you are taking a shower, you're doing things that will make your penis bigger!
Sounds pretty freaking awesome, doesn't it?
I mean, what man wouldn't want to add length, girth, and more to his penis erection... while in the shower... WITHOUT using crappy tools... and WITHOUT having to take dangerous pills?
Well, this is absolutely possible. The key is to do this with 100% all natural penis enlargement.
Natural penis enlargement involves using nothing but your two hands and performing unique exercises on your endowment to enhance all aspects of your penis... naturally, consistently, and permanently.
Sounds good? Great!
I have for you below a beginner routine you can do the next time you take a shower. The routine is very easy and it should only take you six minutes to do.
Let's get started...
Step One - Allow your penis to warm up. This is very simple. Since you are doing these routines while taking a nice hot shower, warming your penis up is already done... with the hot shower! Just let the water hit your manhood for about 2 minutes.
Even though warming up is very quick and easy, do not, I repeat, DO NOT underestimate the importance of warming your penis up prior to doing natural male enhancement.
Most men assume that since this type of enlargement is so easy and gentle, that warming up is not really necessary. Well, the fact of the matter is that yes, this method is gentle, however, it is EXTREMELY effective! If you don't warm up or if you do the method too aggressively, side-effects are sure to happen.
Step Two - Do the initial lengthening exercise. To add length to your erection, with this step you'll do the basic stretching exercise. These types of exercises mimic what DANGEROUS hanging weights do... but without the SCARY side-effects!
Alright, to do the basic lengthening exercise, simply make an O.K. sign with your right hand. With your three fingers facing upwards, place the circle of your O.K. sign right below the head of your penis. Gently pull on your penis without removing your hand for 2 seconds. Now let go. Repeat all steps with your left hand. Do 20 repetitions with each hand.
Step Three - Do the initial thickening exercise. What you're doing here are the basic introduction Jelqing routines.
With doing this exercise, you're going to keep your O.K. sign from the lengthening workout above. Except this time you are going to put the circle at the BASE of your penis.
Starting from the base of your penis, gently but firmly move your hand towards the head of your penis, and then release your grip right before reaching the head. Repeat with the opposite hand and then do 20 repetitions with both hands in a rhythmic motion.
Step Four - Finish off with 20 PC muscle contractions. The PC muscle is a small muscle between your anus and testicles. Have you ever tried to make your penis move without using your hands? That strange feeling muscle making that happen is your PC muscle.
Now, to do contractions, all you need to do is contract this muscle in a "pulsating" rhythm 20 times for 20 seconds. Rest for 20 seconds, and then repeat the set 3 times.
That's it!
Just remember, with doing these exercises, you want to encourage growth... not force it. It's important to stay CONSISTENT... but just don't over do it.
The above is the basic exercise routine for beginners to get started with natural penis enlargement. By following those steps above, you can grow up to an extra inch within 4 months, plus see a noticeable thickness increase.
But What About Growing Up To 4 Inches In 8 WEEKS?
Well, if you are ready to SIGNIFICANTLY Enlarge Your Penis, I strongly suggest you get the FULL penis exercise program that contains a ton of ADVANCED penis exercise tactics that will significantly add size to your penis! I'm talking about up to 4 extra inches in length, thickening your erection like crazy, making your flaccid size hang like a BEAST, fixing premature ejaculation PERMANENTLY, and more... within 8 weeks!
Click: www.NaturallyIncreasePenisSize.info to learn more and to get started ONLINE... in PRIVACY... in just a FEW MINUTES.
WARNING: This program is HIGHLY EFFECTIVE. If you see yourself growing more than an inch in 7 days or less... STOP! Do not continue with the program for a few days. Gradual growth is the best approach.

16 Simple Strategies for Meditation Newbies

16 Simple Strategies for Meditation Newbies

By Kurt A Tasche

Meditation, particularly mindfulness meditation, has become exceptionally popular over the last couple of years. While meditation can be extremely simple, there are a number of common mistakes and misconceptions about meditation that you'll want to prevent if you're brand-new to the practice.
Starting on the right foot enhances the probabilities of maintaining your meditation practice and getting the most out of it.

Use these suggestions to avoid meditation mistakes:

  1. Sit up straight. Slumping over may be comfortable for a few minutes, but it takes more strength than you think to support bad posture. Sit up straight to prevent undue stress on your back.
  2. Start gradually. Just a few minutes is enough to start. There are 2 major reasons for this. It's much simpler to be complete your meditation sessions when you only need to sit for three minutes at a time. Likewise, it's more challenging to meditate for a prolonged period of time if you're not experienced.
  3. Meditate several times every day. The more you meditate, the easier it will become. Soon, you'll be able to sit for longer periods of time, and meditate more often.
  4. It's all about the breath. Your breath links you to the moment and assists in keeping your mind focused. The breath isn't something to be focused on intensely, rather it serves as an anchor to maintain awareness of the present.
  5. Count your breaths if needed. If you're struggling to stay focused, count your breaths. Count each inhalation up until you've reached 5 then start over.
  6. Keep your eyes opened somewhat. It's much easier for your mind to wander from the present if your eyes are closed. Keep your gaze low and soft.
  7. Acknowledge thoughts but avoid dwelling on them. All thoughts need to be treated the same. They're just phenomena travelling through. Let them go and return your focus to your breath.
  8. Be patient. It seems like it must be simple to focus for a couple of minutes, however the mind prefers to stay hectic. It's a challenging practice to break. Be patient.
  9. Sit comfortably. It's not necessary to sit with your legs folded like a pretzel. Any position that can be held comfortably for the scheduled time is good enough.
  10. Utilize a timer. Without a timer, you'll find yourself fretting about the time and continue to peek at the clock. Set a trusted timer and you won't be as preoccupied with the time.
  11. Increase your meditation time by 5 minutes weekly. Avoid the temptation to advance too rapidly. Preferably, you'll anticipate your meditation sessions. Progressing too rapidly triggers restlessness and agitation.
  12. Consider getting expert help. There are many complimentary chances to meditate with others. Try to find regional meetups or call your local Buddhist temple. With a lot of individuals practicing meditation, you're bound to discover an expert ready to assist.
  13. Take every opportunity to practice meditation. Meditating at home under perfect conditions is excellent practice, however the main goal is to have the capability to practice meditation anywhere. A skilled meditator can meditate on a 99-degree packed, loud, smelly subway.
  14. Be persistent. If you're meditating each day with the complete intent of improving, you'll eventually end up being a proficient meditator.
  15. Stretch first. Your meditation position must be comfortable and easy. If your position feels like a stretch, you will not be comfortable. Stretch first.
  16. There's no reason to be concerned about your hands Simply place your hands. comfortably on your lap. Permitting your hands to go to low can eventually pull down on the shoulders and end up causing pain.

Meditation can bring you both psychological and physical advantages. Utilize these ideas when starting to practice meditation and you'll rapidly become skillful at a practice you can take pleasure in for the rest of your life.

Penis Size Tricks: Creating the Illusion of a Bigger Penis

Penis Size Tricks: Creating the Illusion of a Bigger Penis

By John Dugan

Despite overwhelming evidence that penis size is not the main factor in sexual satisfaction, most men fret over the size of their member and wish that they had a bigger penis to display. Their penis health may be superb, they may have no complaints from their partners, they may even be on the larger side of average - yet many still strive for that elusive bigger penis goal.
Wanting a bigger penis is not in and of itself a bad thing. It may indicate that a man takes a great deal of pride in his penis and its appearance and would just like to add to its impression. The problem occurs when the desire for a larger penis size prevents a man from appreciating the endowment he currently has.
Actually increasing penis size is not really an option; however, for some men there are tricks they can try that make the penis appear bigger.
Manscape
Guys are really hairy down below, and for many it's a source of masculine pride. Manscaping - or shaving the hair on and around the crotch - has become more popular in recent years, but it's still not practiced by all guys. Men who want to make their prize package appear an even bigger prize should consider it. Manscaping the area allows the penis to stand out more and gives the illusion that it is (even) larger than it actually is.
Get fit
This is no secret: obesity is a problem in America (and in many other countries around the world). Lots of men could stand to lose a few pounds, which would make them feel better, give them more energy and resilience - and maybe make their members appear a little longer.
When a guy loses that rubber tire, the fat that has accumulated in the crotch also diminishes. This often reveals a little bit more of the penis - perhaps a half inch or so - which had previously been hidden underneath the layer of fat. So the penis isn't actually longer than it was before, but more of it is visible. Also, when the frame around the penis is smaller, it helps create the visual illusion that the penis is bigger. So it's a win-win situation when a guy goes from overweight to fit.
Watch skin tones
Many men have skin that reacts strongly to sunlight, making exposed skin a significantly deeper shade than skin that is kept covered. This means that many men have a very distinct tan line around the mid-section. This two-tone effect tends to visually diminish penis size, so working to safely achieve a more consistent skin tone throughout the body may be of benefit to the man wishing to present a bigger penis.
Warm it up
The penis responds well to warmth and not so well to the cold. Many guys have discovered that it pays to wrap the penis in a washcloth that has been soaked in warm water. When the gentle heat reaches the penis, it helps the blood vessels to expand slightly, creating a somewhat larger appearance for presentation purposes.
Men in search of a bigger penis should remember that penis size is not the be-all end-all of sexual matters. Penis health is also crucial, so men really need to use a superior penis health crme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which has been clinically proven mild and safe for skin). With blood flow important for penile health, the chosen crme must contain L-arginine, an amino acid which facilitates the expansion of blood vessels in the penis. In addition, men need to make sure the penis gets topical vitamin C from this crme as well. Vitamin C contributes to proper blood flow, while simultaneously contributing to collagen production, which supports penile skin elasticity. With a good penis health crme, a man is in better shape for his social encounters.

Why Tongkat Ali Is The Best Natural Testosterone Booster

Why Tongkat Ali Is The Best Natural Testosterone Booster
By Jim O Kelly

As known to many, Tongkat Ali is a renowned flowering plant originally founded in Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and the Philippines. It is widely used as a main component of different types of supplements. Many studies have shown that it served many purposes such as treatment to headaches, ulcers and considered to be a good aphrodisiac. For men, it is proven to be a remedy to testosterone production dysfunction. As an herbal testosterone booster, it is known to improve men's vitality over time.
The testosterone booster benefits of tongkat ali are backed by scientific research. As a matter of fact, tongkat ali has been found to be the most effective in enhancing testosterone in animal studies. Besides its ongoing traditional use, research done over the past 20 years demonstrate the ability of the plant to increase testosterone levels in males. In the early tests involving the investigation of rats' sex drive and activity, tongkat ali consistently demonstrated success in stimulating the secretion of LH or luteinizing hormone. This targets the increased production of testosterone in the testicles.
Are you interested in using tongkat ali-based supplements? The following are some of the possible effects to expect as well as factors to consider:
1. Desired effects such as improved energy and sex drive, better stamina, harder erections, and increased semen volume as well as positive mood, increased concentration, decreased fat accumulation, and boosted muscle gain tend to manifest in a week or two.
2. Projected side effects are minor and rare. For instance, some individuals have reported a bout of mild insomnia. It's always important to pay attention to what your body is telling you, so to play it prudent, start with small doses and slowly work your way up.
3. Not all tongkat ali supplements are created equal. Some are a veritable powerhouse, but these are the high quality and efficient products. To find out which ones to buy, look into purity of the root. Also, make sure that mature plants were used as young ones do not have much of the active compounds that you want. Avoid Malaysian tongkat ali as well since it has been associated with a high lead content. Go instead for products that were made with Indonesian tongkat ali, which has been allowed to age correctly.
If you need an herbal Testosterone booster, there's no need to resort to synthetic substances. Go with the solution that nature has provided for you.

What is the History of Stain Removers?

By Brian Ward

history of soap
When your kid asks the question 'what is the history of stain removers', you do not really have to fumble for words. Here is an overview of use of different natural materials, soap and detergents for stain removal purposes.

The first of all stain removers is plain water. People find it is easy to wash away mud at a stream or a river.

The history of cleaning agents runs back to ancient Babylonian culture. Soap like materials were evacuated from ancient Babylonian remains. The 4500-5000 year old remains also have detailed description of making such materials. It is however not clear whether they used the fat and ash mixed material for cleaning purposes.

Egyptian, Romans, Japanese, Greek and Chinese cultures of the ancient times paid attention to cleanliness and used different materials for cleaning purposes.

Chinese used the fruit of soap-nut tree (Sapindus Mukorossi) for cleaning soft silk clothes. The nut yielded a soap-like material, which thoroughly cleans the silk and is soft on the fabric.

Soap making started in Europe in the seventh century. Soap making in Europe was mostly a family tradition and people kept the technique of soap making a secret. They used animal fat and plant oils to make soap. They also knew the technique of adding perfumes to the soap for fragrance. The soaps were used for bathing and laundry purposes. Italy, Spain and France were the leaders in soap making.

Large scale soap manufacturing began in 1791, with the invention of a process of making soda ash from common salt by a French scientist Nicholas Leblanc. Several advancements came to Leblanc method of soap. The cost and time for making soda ash became lower.

German scientists developed a method of making cleaning agents without plant oil or animal fat. This chemically synthesized material is called detergent. This is harsher than soap (that produced from fat and oil). This happened in 1916, when the availability of fat and oils was scarce.

Utilization of enzymes for detergent manufacturing was a breakthrough in detergent manufacturing. A no enzyme content detergents too are available today, but the biggest thrust is on enzyme added detergents. There is however different environmental problems associated with use of enzymes in detergents.

Further researches produced higher quality detergents at lower costs. Detergents eventually went on to surpass soap as the preferred cleaning agent.

Later researches on cleaning products were concentrated on safety of the users and environment, ease of use and lower production costs. Detergents and soaps are available as cakes, powder and in liquid form. Detergents that mix well in saline water are also readily available in the market.

That is the history of stain removers, which started off as a mixture of fat and ash or plant products, which, with advancement in research facilities has grown to such high proportions that everyone today can afford to have a stain remover of his or her choice. Potassium Chloride Uses - Benefits and Dangers!

Potassium Chloride Uses - Benefits and Dangers!
Potassium Chloride
So what is potassium chloride, it's basically a salt substitute and it has a ton of uses. It's used as a fertilizer to help grow a garden.

It can be used as a medicine to help someone who has a low amount of potassium in the body. Symptoms of low potassium would be things like muscle cramps, nausea, diarrhea, urinating a lot, being very thirsty, confusion, being irritably and changes to heart rhythm.

Most famously it is added as a food additive. It's in food such as canned soups, cereals, sauces, sports drinks it is used instead of salt. It has 2 main purposes and the first one is to reduce the sodium content in food as a replacement for salt.

This is good because too much salt causes problems. Adults need less than 1 gram a day and some people estimate that the average person in the U.S. gets over 8 grams a day. This is because it is in so much food as a preservative to keep it from going bad.

Reducing your salt intact will reduce high blood pressure. High blood pressure is bad because it's a silent killer that causes heart disease, strokes and other bad things like damaging the kidneys and even the brain.

In fact I had a good friend of mine become paralyzed in half of his face due to high blood pressure. He is young and it happened out of the blue.

The second reason it is in food is to give potassium to someone. Like I mentioned if someone is suffering from a deficiency potassium chloride pills might be prescribed.

Those are the 2 positives of it so you might be wondering if there are any dangers.

The biggest danger is really consuming too much of it, which is very hard to do. This could lead to something called hyperkalemia where there is too much potassium in the body. Symptoms are very similar to having low potassium, like weakness, wanting to throw up, chest pains, abnormal heart rhythms and even paralysis depending on how much potassium in your body.

If you are wondering how much potassium chloride you would have to take to get too much potassium. Well humans need at least almost 5 grams of potassium a day. Humans get over 8 grams of salt a day. Considering how much salt is in food, it's nearly impossible to overdose on potassium chloride.

Usually hyperkalemia is caused from kidney disease. Also, if for some reason you take too much, you could get an upset stomach and want to vomit. No surprise there right?

Lastly, in its natural state this substance is a white powder. It can irritate the skin, eyes and nose if inhaled.
