Read Aloud Books To Your Child

Start Reading Aloud To Your Child

By Benwade Warren

Kindle Ebook
Do you know how important reading is for children? Do you want your child to learn how to read? Do you regularly make your child practice his or her reading? Do you do this on a nightly or weekly basis?

I'm sure you do know how important reading is for children. We all know children need to learn how to read, but have you ever considered how important it is for you to read aloud to children? Yes, reading aloud is one of the most important things you can do for young children. It's something many parents neglect because they see more value in making the child read. I'm not saying that reading aloud is more important. I'm only saying that it is just as important.

Reading aloud changes childrens' brains in beneficial ways. There have been a number of studies done on this, and kids who have parents who read aloud to them consistently do better on standardized tests than children who don't have book read to them.

If you have a child, it's important to start reading early to them. They don't have to be old enough to understand or follow the story as an adult would. They can listen and gain the building blocks required for reading comprehension. As children hear words, they make mental images of those words. They visualize events in the story as they are happening. This is how reading comprehension works in both children and adults.

Reading comprehension is a part of almost every standardized test your child is going to take in school. In many grades children take these tests, and they are often the deciding factor in whether a child is admitted to the next grade. Therefore, it's vitally important that children learn to not only read but remember what they are reading.

If you want what's best for your child, you'll start reading aloud. You can find lots of book at the local library, and you can almost always check them out for free. Many parents don't realize how great a resource local libraries are. Go often, check out books, read them, and get more. A good, involved parent will take the time to read to his or her child. It's just what you're supposed to do. If the benefits of it are so great, there is really no good reason not to read daily to your children. It will help them in ways you never imagined. [http://www.saraalicebooks.com]Stories About Me is a read-aloud book to get you started reading to your children. Here are some more [http://www.bestbooksnow.com]good books to read aloud to your child. Check out some studies are this topic as well - it's been clinically proven that children benefit from adults who read to them.

How To Play the Pokemon Go Game and When Will It Be Released in Asian Countries Like the Philippines?

By []Winston Badon

Pokemon Go Game
Pokemon Go
Lot's of Netizens couldn't wait to experience to travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokemon, especially here in the Philippines. John Hanke the founder of Niantic, the game developer stated that he does not want to limit the game's availability. The game was released mostly in the European countries, however they certainly fixed some server issues with the intention of launching this game to approximately 200 countries.

Discover Pokmon in the Real World with Pokmon GO!

The 26 countries in Europe which Pokemon Go was launched, includes: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland. Who knows? because of the vast amount of players locally, I don't think Philippines will be ignored as well as other Asian countries who has large number of players awaiting this game.

With the company's determination to disperse the Pokemon GO game globally, it may perhaps possibly be release here in the Philippines before this year will end.

How To Play the Pokemon Go Game?

Pokemon Go is developed on Niantic's real world gaming platform, it allows players to use real locations and urge them to explore in the actual world to track down Pokemon (the real world will be the setting on this game). As you explore your areas, the game enables you to capture more than a hundred varieties of Pokemon, similar to that of their video game series which they uses real world locations like New York, Paris, and the regions of Japan (Kanto and Hokkaido).

You can seize and capture countless of Pokemon by exploring within your cities, towns and even around the globe. Once your mobile smartphone vibrates as you move around, that's the signal you are near a Pokemon. As soon as you found a Pokemon, target that Pokemon by aiming on your smartphone's touchscreen, once you already aiming at it, you can easily catch it by simply throwing a Pok Ball. Be sure to hit it with a Pok Ball or it could possibly escape. At the same time, you should search for PokStops situated at significant places, like for example: monuments, public art installations, historical markers and other areas or places with similar nature to be able to gather more Pok Balls and other sorts of items.

Account and Customization of Your Pokemon Go Trainer

After creating an account, the player will have to make an avatar and customizes it by choosing a hair style, skin color, eye color, design of its outfit and other additional accessories. Once the user created an avatar, it is shown on the existing location of the player, together with a map showing the existing area. The basic function of the map is that it shows the total quantity of Pokmon gyms and the total count of PokStops. While the players travel the real world, their customized avatar will also move along the map.

Function of PokStops

The PokStops offers items like Pokeballs, eggs, and even potions. It could in fact be geared up with elements known as the "lures" that typically allures Pokemon.

The Purpose of Gyms

The gyms function as a battle locations for "king of the hill" matches which are team-based. It usually found at interactive locations.

Catch More Pokmon and Complete Your Pokdex

Pokdex is considered as the encyclopedia of Pokemon, where the description, height, weight, species type and other information of a certain Pokemon is being listed. As a Trainer, you will progress in levels, once you gained a higher levels, you will be able to capture more powerful Pokemon and add it to your Pokedex to complete it. Additionally, you will gain access to much more powerful items like Great Balls to provide you a more effective hit in catching a Pokemon. In order to move up into advance level, you'll need to explore and discover more Pokemon.

As the game progress, you'll discover alternative strategies to get more Pokemon to your Pokdex. In the event that you capture a Pokemon at a sufficient intervals, you'll get the chance to develop and make one of them to a more stronger Pokemon. If you keep exploring, you would probably come across Pokemon Eggs found at PokeStops, that will hatch when you're already at a particular range. After they hatched, you might possibly discover Pokemon which you may perhaps have never encounter previously.

Quite a few number of wild Pokemon will just show up in a particular spots close to your geographical area or even around the globe. Like for instance, some water-type Pokemon may likely be seen in the vicinity where it is close to oceans, lakes, rivers, etc... When you are not in your house or when you're not in your typical location, don't forget and be aware that you might encounter Pokemon you have never seen before.

In the event that you capture a Pokemon at a sufficient intervals, you'll get the chance to develop and make one of them to a more stronger Pokemon. This method is incredibly helpful if you are having a difficult time capturing a Pokemon in the wild. As for instance, if your location has substantial numbers of Poliwag, but you couldn't find any Poliwhirl, you need to capture plenty of Poliwag so that at some point, you can potentially acquire the capability to turn one them into a Poliwhirl.

Become a Member of a Team and Join a Battle

As saying goes, "No Man is an Island", you need to join a team so that you can challenge other teams and can participate in a battle. By the time you join a particular team, you obtain a potential and is able to designate a Pokemon you captured to an Open Gym locations or you can assign it to a Gym where a Pokemon is assigned by a certain team member. The Gyms can also be found at actual places around the globe which is just the same with PokeStops. Only a single Pokemon can be assigned at a selected Gym. That is why as a team you have to work together in order to make your defense formidable.

If an opponent comes, and claimed a Gym, you'll be able to challenge this team by using the Pokemon you have captured and overcome the defending Pokemon. You see, team battles are also fun and at the same time challenging and difficult. You can choose what Pokemon will have to face your rival team. Every Pokemon possesses two types of attacks, while fighting, it can also avoid its opponent's attacks by swiping your touchscreen to either left or right. If luckily your chosen Pokemon wins the battle, the Gym's status will gradually decreases, and when the Gym's prestige will be at zero level, that's the time you or another team member can take over and take control of the Gym by assigning a Pokemon to it.

Now that your team has taken control over the Gym, you and other team members can now increase the Gym's level status by contending with the defending Pokemon. Not only that, you can train battles as well against your own team to help your Pokemon level up. Once the Gym gains to an advanced level, You or another team member can assign additional Pokemon to fortify its defense. If you like to, you can call your friends to add more teams and challenge the opponent Gym together with your combined team, in order to defeat the more powerful Gyms a lot quicker.

By undertaking a lot of challenges in various categories and complete each mission, you may be able to uncover medals of achievements that will show up in your profile. Challenges such as exploration and capturing of Pokemon. You can get as many medals as you can by trying your very best.

Additional Features: Pokemon GO Plus, Fun Photos and PokCoins

By introducing the Pokemon GO Plus, the game may possibly hit the world by storm. It is a portable device which enables users to play the game even if their not using their smartphones. This device alerts the player on a certain event of the game via Bluetooth which connects to the user's smartphone. Like for example, if there is a Pokemon detected by this gadget near the area, the user will be notify through vibration and LED alert. Besides that, this gizmo can execute basic function such as catching a Pokemon by pressing its button.

Other impressive characteristic of Pokemon Go game is its fun photos. You can capture photos at any moment using the in-game camera, especially when you come across a Pokemon in the wild. You can direct this Pokemon into the live scene in accordance to the position of your camera and take a snapshot of it at anytime. You can then save the image and share it whenever you like.

Finally, you can download the game anytime by going to the main website or at Google Playstore with no charge at all. The only charge is when you would like to level up your Pokemon GO experience by purchasing items through PokeCoins, the in-game currency of Pokemon GO of which users will have to spend real money out of their pockets. These PokeCoins may then be trade with enhancements such as extra items and power-ups.

The History of Pokemon - How Did Pokemon Become Popular?

By Zachary Moyer

Pokeball
Pokeball
The history of Pokemon began with one single japan man named Satoshi Tajiri. It was his hobby. Over time he decided to put his idea of catching creatures into practice, to give children the same thrills he had as a child of catching insects and tadpoles. Tajiri and friends worked a lot of hours on designs and Tajiri even went with unpaid hours to make his dreams come true for the game. It nearly drove partners bankrupt, and several employees quit due to financial conditions. The first Pokemon games, Pokemon red and green, came to Japan on February 27, 1996, which fulfilled Tajiri's dreams. Because of the success rate in Japan with the Pokemon games, they released it overseas.

The anime, as well as Pokemon Yellow, marked Pikachu as the most popular and recognized creature in Pokemon history, turning it into the franchise's mascot. This led to a small spin-off game called Hey You, Pikachu!, which was released in Japan on December 12, 1998, and in North America on November 6, 2000. This was a virtual-pet game, utilizing the Nintendo 64's Voice Recognition Unit to let the players interact verbally with Pikachu. When the anime finished following the games' story with Ash's defeat in the Pokmon League in January 1999, it started a new season in a new region called the Orange Archipelago.

A major overhaul of the main game series occurred when Pokemon arrived on the Game Boy Advance on November 21, 2002 when Ruby and Sapphire Versions were released in Japan. Trainers found themselves in the southern land called Hoenn where 135 new Pokemon were waiting to be discovered. The games reached North America on March 18, 2003 and had many new features, the most prominent being Pokemon Contests, Double Battles, Pokemon Abilities and Natures for each Pokemon. Also introduced in these versions were more types of weather and two new villain teams, Team Magma and Team Aqua..

The anime began a new series, Advanced Generation series, which started in Japan on the same day as the release of the games and reached North America almost a year later. A great deal was changed in this series, including the introduction of a new main character, May, based on her game counterpart.

There are several generations of Pokemon, and there is still future generations to come. When the world changes, so does the world of Pokemon. 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, and will be celebrated by the re-release of the original Generation I core series games on the Nintendo 3DS's. There are currently six generations of Pokemon, and over this time period, there are many games, including spin offs, along with anime, movies, manga, a Trading Card Game, music, and a musical.

Book Review : Dawn and Sunset - A Tale of the Oldest Cities in the Near East

By S. Marie Vernon

Dawn and Sunset is a compelling Tale of the Oldest Cities of the Near East written by amateur historian and Israeli high school English teacher, Michael Baizerman. It's clear, Baizerman has spent countless hours researching and documenting this work. He has compiled minute details of everyday life of the inhabitants of the old world known as Mesopotamia and the cradle of civilization. The oldest cities encompassed the Persian Gulf area and were referred to as Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian regions. The Mesopotamia area today is known as Eastern Turkey, IRAQ, Kuwait, Baghdad, Iran and Northern Syria. The Greek meaning of Mesopotamia is, "land between two rivers." The twin rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates nourished Mesopotamia and made it possible for nomadic tribes to begin to cultivate the land for agriculture and eventually settle into communal villages where life as we know it began. Then much changed over the course of time. A lot of historical ground is covered in the many millenniums referenced with some emphasis on the third and fourth millennia BCE.

This work may be more than A Tale, perhaps it's a social study of our earliest ancestors? Perhaps it's closer to a documentary of facts, yet facts that are sometimes verified through myths, legends and the poetry of that millennium? Baizerman blazes on undaunted by the scarcity of information for some periods and events. He gathers his content from different angles to expose discrepancies and biases for what they were. If there is no documentation to support the claim he will pursue other avenues; he will find a hieroglyphic, a poem or an architectural marker of that time period so his points are well documented. The author himself says it best, "only artists and scholars are entitled to examine our history through a magnifying glass with inexhaustible vigor," which he does very well in creating this educational volume called Dawn and Sunset.

The Gods drove every decision in the ancient world. Temples attested to their glory and power. In the beginning, the Temples controlled the economic life of a community. They were central to all the regions and the many Gods were worshipped and honored constantly. Life was a battle, a consistent struggle with the hostile land and various populations of people. Irrigation and farming allowed for communal villages to give way to more complex societies with district states. Then pristine cities became early empires and these gave way to dynasties with corruption and exploitation that would bring in the Dark Ages and the eventual collapse of this early civilization that had been "two thousand turbulent years in the making." The temples fell to government rule and general's built extravagant palaces to display power and demand respect whether they deserved it or not. Many great leaders and warriors would rise and fall. Some were virtuous and some were not. War was inevitable and peace was all but nonexistent.

Though it all, writing, language and technological advancement prevailed; metals, ceramics and new building materials enhanced and changed their way of life forever. New transportation routes and foreign trade changed the landscape, social classes, and the expectations of the people. Division of labor and other inequities emerged that would lead to more wars and the eventual demise of a once glorious nation known as Mesopotamia. From pre-civilization to civilization to its very downfall, this book delivers a lot as each chapter is organized and packed with great detail about the grueling and difficult historical times between the Dawn and Sunset of Mesopotamia- A Tale of the Oldest Cities of the Near East. Ironically, through this writing we can see many parallels of modern day society as it faces some of the same indignities and dilemmas of this historical period.

After Dawn and Sunset author Michael Baizenman emerges with a new book and is already writing it. It's about the attitude of the Latin West to the East on the eve of the Age of Discovery. Both books should appeal to history lovers and educators who like a dedicated spirit of inquiry and documented exposure of facts that may not be so factual. Of course, any differences in opinion, by this author is well researched, well documented and well written. These volumes are sure to be a handy resource for any educator who would like that little extra detail when it comes to the history of ancient civilizations.

S. Marie Vernon is a book and product reviewer who has her own blog at The Write Review. http://smariev.blogspot.com and you may also find her work at Pacific Book Review. http://www.pacificbookreview.com

These 6 Mobile App UX Design Strategies Are Guaranteed to Work

By Manish Kumar .

These 6 Mobile App UX Design Strategies Are Guaranteed to Work
Mobile-App-UX-Design
Crafting a successful mobile application that gets many downloads is fundamentally based on designing an astonishing yet easy-to-use UX. Can your users easily navigate through your app well, or it's hard for them to use it? A great mobile app design not only offers renowned UX but also helps you retain your potential customers. Bad and boring UX design can make your customers jump on your Competitor's app. Ultimately, everything on your mobile app goes back to the type of experience it offers to its users.

The success of a mobile application is reliant on a combination of factors, however, UX is what makes or breaks your app. Businesses that invest in user experience see a lower cost of consumer acquisition, increased customer retention, lower support cost, and increased market share.

How should you design your app for maximum growth? In this article, we outline six successful strategies that will get you to design an alluring UX.

User Interface (UI) Design

A good UI design can materially help make your app reach its full potential. User Interface design focuses mainly focuses on interaction, and while being easy-to-use is necessary, an attractive yet still practical design is key to the success of your app.

Instead of cramming too many items within the screen, use swipe-able pages to plunk all the content you want. Make sure to reserve proper spaces for users to interact.

Use proper texts and sizes to enhance readability. It's worthless to build a mobile application that no one can read. Texts are the key delivery representatives of the messages of your mobile apps, and hence should not be disregarded.

Be Careful with Colors

Colors play a vital role in enhancing user experience. It's wrong practice to choose any color for the design. Proper selection of colors can help and enhance interactivity and visual continuity in your mobile app.

When choosing colors for your mobile application, focus on color contrasts. To enhance the user experience, plunk sufficient contrast in the background of the navigation bar and the bar button tiles to easily distinguish the buttons.

Use at least 50 percent contrast differences and test the results on different devices in different lighting conditions such as outdoors and indoors. Never use the same or slightly different color in both interactive and the non-interactive elements. Increase contrast between them to make your users easily identify where to tab.

Ultimately, colors should be used to enrich the flow of information, not to distract users.

Minimal User Design

A mobile application is not only about looking appealing, it needs to be super functional as well. The popularity of minimalistic design is growing year after year. Minimal User Design is all about keeping your mobile app simple while cutting all the clutters such as evading irrelevant 3D images with textures and shadows, beveled edges and reflections in favor of a flat, and several others.

In short, the key principle of minimal user design is to offer the user with only what they need to know and see in the app. A minimalistic approach helps deliver a world-class experience to users.

In-App Personalization

With growth in the mobile app industry, user expectations are also growing. The main goal of App personalization is to present users with experiences tailored to the specific requirements, rather than offering a one size fit all experience to all users.

Mobile app personalization plays a crucial role to enhance the user experience, boost loyalty, and eventually, grow your business. With personalization, you can tweak the app experience for each user, making them more likely to engage with your app on a regular basis.

Personalization can help app stand out from the crowd - users are far more likely to use a mobile application that addresses their specific requirements and interests over a range of generic, impersonal platform.

Delightful Onboarding Designs

Nowadays, for first-time users, showing onboarding screens has become a very common practice in mobile applications. The main purpose of these onboarding screens - also termed as walkthroughs - is to introduce the mobile application and demonstrate what it does to the first time users.

Evaluate whether onboarding is required for your mobile app and, if so, to decide the best possible approach to implementing it.

Onboarding is essential in mobile applications to support interaction techniques that a large percentage of users would not have been exposed to on a regular basis. It is used particularly by gesture-driven applications as these applications are still in the exploratory and experimental phase.

As such, designers require to guiding users on how to interact with them by clearly displaying every gesture and its corresponding function. It makes your app interactive. Birdhouse app by Twitter offers an excellent progressive onboarding experience for its users.

Gesturization

Adding new and interesting gestures gives super power to your mobile application in terms of UX, usability, and retention.

Earlier the UI of some of the top mobile applications were restricted to minimum functionalities like pinching and swiping. Now, professionals are adding new gestures such as drag and swipe in mobile apps to enable speed in user action - making a comfortable way for users to interact with your app with devices of varying shapes and sizes.

In Closing

When you are designing and developing a mobile application, UX has to be at the top of the list of considerations to make your app successful. There are various strategies that can help you provide your app users with best-in-class experience. If you succeed implementing the best of UX strategies in the most efficient manner, your app can truly stand out in the mobile app industry while ensuring you meet the bottom-line.

Manish is a technology enthusiast with a keen interest in latest innovations and evolving technologies such as iPhone Application Development, Android Application Development. He is an avid tech blogger who writes on latest trends that can help decision makers choose the best possible solution.

Hens Lay Eggs (HLE)

By Silke Stahl

Hens Lay Eggs
HLE
"HLE" is a bit of a joke term, (or possible tongue in cheek could be a better label) coined in my Network Marketing Group - it stands for "Hens Lay Eggs" and is a take on the exponential growth theory - recruit two people, who recruit two, etc, and in six weeks you'll have 50,000 people sending you $250,000 - the false promise of MLM.

The MLM exponential growth chart makes sense mathematically but is flawed. Unfortunately the ordinary person can't see the flaw, so buy into it, and you get your 95% of people who do MLM and can't make it work. We all know the story.

The logic is the same as "Zeno's arrow", based on an ancient greek philosopher and mathematician who precedes Archimedes and Pythagoras. Or in the famous "missing pound" logic problem. More on these in future issues.

But here is the HLE analogy explained:

A hen lays six eggs. If the chicks grow up to be hens they also lay eggs and the hen becomes a "grandmother". There is no guarantee that all 6 chicks will lay 6 eggs, etc. Also there's nothing to stop the hen laying another batch of eggs, maybe six, maybe 5 or 8. It's not set or guaranteed.

Also there is no guarantee that the eggs will hatch into chicks - "don't count your chickens before they hatch" after all. In this sense, an egg is a prospect, a chick is an affiliate who has signed up. Whether that chick now grows into a hen and lays their own eggs is the next issue. And a lot of that is down to how you - the mentor - or "Mother Hen" - help them develop in their early days, months, even years.

So it is with network marketing, MLM, EMM - whatever you want to call it - we call it "HLE". As Shakespeare said "a rose by any other name will still give you hay fever", or to quote Bruce Lee "it's just a name don't fuss over it"

The same goes for EMM - Exact Method Marketing - the McDonalds formula example (more on that later).

So what I now do is lead with FREE affiliate programs, the best of which is the SFI scheme with their free online VStore. This means no signup fees, no upgrade fees, no forcing the distributors to buy inventory. The money is ONLY made from the sale of the product and money is ONLY made by helping your downline make sales.

When someone joins under me they HAVE to sell the products and I HAVE to help them, I can't just sell them the opportunity as they do in so many companies that are DESIGNED to take advantage of the fact that the new affiliate won't be able to make any sales or recruit any downline. THESE schemes don't need them to - they have made the money from selling them the opportunity - the startup fee, upgrade fee, and they sell product to the distribrutor who "must stock inventory" - they don't ever expect him to be able to sell it on - they don't need him to.

HLE, taken literally, is more "viral". It's like when someone sends you a joke on email, if you look, each "level" has dozens of different names the joke has been spidered out to.

That is "viral", and that is how you pass on the products and opportunity. It spreads like a virus - person to person - which is how network marketing is supposed to work. No spam, no sticking people on autoresponders - no junk mail.

Real people, real products, real opportunities, real results.

Compact Discs Vs Downloadable Applications

By Toyin Orebiyi.

By living in the year 2016, technology has come a long way. One of the many titles I hold is Uber driver, and while on a trip with a passenger, we had a very enlightening conversation about technology within the music and industry. Upon entering my vehicle, I asked him if he wanted to listen to any music from his cell phone because I travel with an axillary cord that I make accessible to passengers. He told me that he did not have any music on his phone and that anything that I wanted to listen to was alright with him. I played a particular artist who just recently hit mainstream media, and we enjoyed the lyrical and audio sounds of his music.

My passenger was evidently younger than me because as we were partaking in casual conversation, he asked me what type of music applications I used to stream music. I told him Tidal, founded by the musical artist Sean Carter, commonly known as Jay-Z. What made him stand out to me was when we were discussing the evolution of obtaining music within the last ten years. I told him that as a child, I used to record songs using my double cassette recorder and would record music from the radio. I went on to discuss how I used to download music using programs such as Limewire on my computer and burning CDs. He laughed because he had never listened to an actual CD before. I could not believe this is the society that we live in!

Technology has departed from cassette tapes, VHS tapes and in some instances even actual compact discs. Music and movies can now be streamed online or via downloadable applications. According The Verge, a technology website, in 2014 digital music downloads generated $6.85 billion in revenue over $6.82 billion in CD sales. This is the first time in history where digital downloads have generated more revenue that CD purchases thanks to music applications such as Spotify, Pandora, Tidal, and Rhapsody. Downloads have accounted for 52% of digital revenue.

In my opinion, I feel that there is an overall advantage to using downloadable applications. Instead of buying tons of CDs that vary in price, one is paying a small monthly fee, such as $9.99 for the streaming service. Also, there is a convenience factor to consider because one does not have to have CD cases taking up mass amounts of space. All someone has to do is open up the application on a phone, tablet, computer or any other device to listen to tons and tons of music. Needless to say, my Uber customer and I agreed that downloadable applications are the way to go. http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/15/8419567/digital-physical-music-sales-overtake-globally

Do You Know the Difference Between Cash Flow and Profit?

By Kevin Amolsch

WHY MILLIONAIRES GO BANKRUPT

Difference Between Cash Flow and Profit

"That is exactly why we cannot loan you the money you need," I said in response to a potential client explaining to me that he has over $20,000 a month going through his account.

Cash is king. If you have it, you stay in business. If you don't... you don't. A lot of money going through your account does not matter. In fact, that is not a good thing unless the money into the account is more than the money out. In this case, this particular client was doing very well financially on paper. He had a high net worth and several assets. The problem is, he set up the loans on his rentals to pay them off early and was spending all of his rent, and sometimes more than his rent, to make the payments. These rentals were profitable because income was more than the expenses, but he had no cash flow. The principal portion of your payment each month is a reduction of debt, so it is not an expense. In the long run this will prove beneficial, but it is risky. In this case, he was using shorter term amortizations to reduce his loan size quickly. All of his loans were set up as 15 year loans. Although, with the exception of a default, this is a sure fire way to speed up the loan payoff, I believe there are better ways to do it.

I made a similar mistake when I was really young. Whenever I got some cash in the bank I would want to invest it right away. After all, money in the bank is not working for me. I could earn much higher returns in other investments. I was buying houses at a rapid pace, and quickly became a millionaire. I was extremely proud that I hit that status long before my 30th birthday. The lesson I learned the hard way is that your net worth really doesn't mean much. Net worth is simply your assets minus your liabilities. All my assets were in real estate. It was easy to buy discounted properties, so I increased my net worth each time I purchased a home. I am sure you have heard the term, "you make money when you buy." That could not be truer. Although you make money when you buy, you can't spend it until you sell. My model was almost exclusively buy and hold, so I never really generated the cash reserves I needed to withstand a problem. And a problem is exactly what I got. I was a millionaire and could not pay my bills.

I am a big leverage guy. I believe strongly that you need leverage to reach your potential. You will make more money and grow faster with leverage. Although I think you need to leverage people as much as money, I am going to focus on money for this point. If you have a lot of leverage in the way of loans, you need to make money to pay it off. Companies, and frankly our Government, end up spending all of its revenue to pay off debt; and although they are profitable, they are broke.

Once I shifted my focus to cash flow I was able to rebuild a much stronger financial picture. I rebuilt much more slowly and smarter. I still love and use leverage, but I am smart about it and stay diversified. I have access to cash if I run into a problem, and I use my assets to steadily pay off debt AND produce cash each and every month.

I prefer cash over equity in a home, but I am not necessarily saying don't focus on paying off your mortgages. For many people that is an extremely positive thing.

The Core Ingredient Of Your Brand - Corporate Logo Design

By Shelly Morrison.

Twenty years back, nobody told the evolving and existing companies to have a unique brand identity, the successful ones knew what it is to have an image that beats all - so they followed their instincts and came up with their own signature face called a 'logo'. A corporate logo is pretty much your company's first impression to your audience. It's your brand introduction. A well designed corporate logo helps brand lay a strong foundation for building a reliable and trustworthy image that helps you won over viewer's confidence and turn leads into conversion big time. Sadly, people judge a book by its cover and for your brand identity your logo is the cover. Why not use it as an opportunity in the first place?

A corporate logo should be as pleasing as your company's offerings itself. If you have all the products with the best of quality, superior locations for your stores and amazing employees to kick start your operations but if your corporate logo displays a poor quality design, your brand does not get the repo it deserves to appear reliable and with that all the efforts are just flop.

Chances are that you can achieve an incredible logo if you spend a considerable amount of time and efforts on creating a fool-proof logo design process. Each and every element of your brand logo has a science behind it. Good logos are always well thought out. Each image, font, color, shape, graphics, has a strategic plan that leads to an award winning logo. We questioned many design experts to come up with all the important answers. Turns out the most common thing among all the successful logo is simplicity and right color choice. The less artwork your logo has the more effective it will be. The last thing you want for your audience is to be confused by the complex design of your corporate logo. It's all about simplifying the message and delivering it effectively. Let's not forget the importance of colors. According to psychologists colors add meaning to designs, having the potential to convey certain messages to human brain which then perceives the delivered idea. Each color has a certain meaning that gives meaning to your brand name. For example if you own a restaurant that caters to vegetarians only, you would rather pick a design that seems friendly to veg lovers with color green instead of going with a screaming color like red or yellow.

According to consumer psychology, each color that you choose plays a vital role in delivering the meaning of your design. Each color is associated with a certain emotion, a feeling that's evoked every time a viewer comes in contact with it.

Red in Business - It displays action, high energy and demands attention
Orange in Business - It is the colors of adventure, inspiration and enthusiasm. It shows sociability and suggests affordability.

Yellow in Business- A color of mental clarity that illuminates and uplift our logical side and excites our mood.

Green in Business - A color associated with health, healing and nature love
Turquoise in Business - A Color suggesting balance and excites emotions along with inspiration of good expression- skills.

Blue in Business - A color that promotes trust, feeling of reliability and strength.
Indigo in Business - It is a color of integrity and sincerity. It suggests strong moral values and loyalty.

Purple
in Business - Nothing promotes fantasy, creativity and richness better than purple.

How to Value a Freehold Property

By Amy Anderson Lee

There are no yardsticks to measure the value of a freehold property. This is because evaluating a freehold is not an accurate science. However, you can follow certain guidelines on what you need to take into consideration when valuing a freehold, which is produced by the advisory services that give free advice to leaseholders. You must also take these three factors into consideration:

1. The current value of the property

2. The annual ground rent

3. The number of years currently left on the lease

Also, evaluate the expected percentage increase in property value that results from extending the leases of different lengths, along with forecasted long term interest rates and inflation rates.

Take help from an expert valuer rather than trying to work out a figure all by yourself, to present before the freeholder. An expert valuer will be able to give you the best advice, which will enable you to make a practical offer.

You will find expert valuers online. They will help you with the entire process of negotiation and buying the freehold.

For the benefit of the freehold, most surveyors add a little extra to a property's value. This is done after comparing it with similar property with the same number of years on the lease but no freehold.

First, approach your freeholder informally, before you serve him with a first notice. This document should include your preliminary offer for the freehold, which starts off the legal process of buying it.

A word of caution. Never produce an initial notice without obtaining an expert valuation. If you make the wrong evaluation in the initial notice you won't be able to take back the offer. After the initial notice, wait for the freeholder to reply to it with a counter notice by a date that you have given. The freeholder must be sanctioned at least two months from the date the initial notice is served.

If the freeholder is not sending his counter notice within this period, the leaseholders can take matters into their hands. They can apply for a vesting order at a court. It is now up to the court to move the freehold to the leaseholders. So freeholder's should respond on time to the initial notice for their own benefit.

Buying a share of freehold will make little profit if you already have had a decent length lease. You would still have to give the same authorized costs as someone with a short hire, but would lead to a drop in the value of the property.

Potassium Chloride Uses - Benefits and Dangers!

Potassium Chloride Uses - Benefits and Dangers!
Potassium Chloride
So what is potassium chloride, it's basically a salt substitute and it has a ton of uses. It's used as a fertilizer to help grow a garden.

It can be used as a medicine to help someone who has a low amount of potassium in the body. Symptoms of low potassium would be things like muscle cramps, nausea, diarrhea, urinating a lot, being very thirsty, confusion, being irritably and changes to heart rhythm.

Most famously it is added as a food additive. It's in food such as canned soups, cereals, sauces, sports drinks it is used instead of salt. It has 2 main purposes and the first one is to reduce the sodium content in food as a replacement for salt.

This is good because too much salt causes problems. Adults need less than 1 gram a day and some people estimate that the average person in the U.S. gets over 8 grams a day. This is because it is in so much food as a preservative to keep it from going bad.

Reducing your salt intact will reduce high blood pressure. High blood pressure is bad because it's a silent killer that causes heart disease, strokes and other bad things like damaging the kidneys and even the brain.

In fact I had a good friend of mine become paralyzed in half of his face due to high blood pressure. He is young and it happened out of the blue.

The second reason it is in food is to give potassium to someone. Like I mentioned if someone is suffering from a deficiency potassium chloride pills might be prescribed.

Those are the 2 positives of it so you might be wondering if there are any dangers.

The biggest danger is really consuming too much of it, which is very hard to do. This could lead to something called hyperkalemia where there is too much potassium in the body. Symptoms are very similar to having low potassium, like weakness, wanting to throw up, chest pains, abnormal heart rhythms and even paralysis depending on how much potassium in your body.

If you are wondering how much potassium chloride you would have to take to get too much potassium. Well humans need at least almost 5 grams of potassium a day. Humans get over 8 grams of salt a day. Considering how much salt is in food, it's nearly impossible to overdose on potassium chloride.

Usually hyperkalemia is caused from kidney disease. Also, if for some reason you take too much, you could get an upset stomach and want to vomit. No surprise there right?

Lastly, in its natural state this substance is a white powder. It can irritate the skin, eyes and nose if inhaled.

Do Your Customers Scream TRUST or DISTRUST About Your Company?

By Blaine Millet

Trust is possibly the most powerful word an organization can have today. Either you have it with your customers (and employees) or you don't. It isn't something that works on a "meter" where you have 60% trust and 40% distrust. And once you have it, you can make it stronger and deeper once you have established it with your customers. But organizations that aren't trusted also communicate this very clearly to their customers... and customers respond to it in many different ways.

When a customer has their first interaction with your business (doesn't have to be a purchase) what is communicated during that "moment of truth" with them? Is it an interaction that causes them to feel like they can trust you or one that creates uncertainty and doubt about whether they can trust your organization? This is a critical question for every business to answer... and most have no clue they are sending one of these messages to their customers.

What causes companies to send a message of DISTRUST?

Here are a few factors that cause a customer to stay suspicious about trusting your company...

Employees ignore them upon first interaction... signaling they aren't as important as other issues

The employee tells them things as a way to get their attention that the customer instinctively knows aren't true... if it's too good to be true it usually isn't

Employees make quick promises and they either don't keep them or the customer believes they can't keep them

Employees ask some "trapping questions" with the intent of making the customer feel stupid if they don't answer yes... leading them to a close they don't want

Employees already have the answer... before asking any qualifying questions

These are just some of the ways that customers immediately start to distrust your employees or company. The easiest example is the "used/new car salesperson" or the "timeshare salesperson" or "mattress salesperson" and a host of other stereotypes we have created in our mind. If you walk into one of these businesses you immediately "have your guard up" because you have been programmed to not trust these people. You know they will lie to you to get a sale so you aren't going to believe anything they tell you without doing more research.

While these are extremes, they are also reality in many businesses. Maybe not as dramatic as some of the ones I listed, but they are nevertheless ways to create distrust initially with customers. When companies do this (knowingly or unknowingly) they are starting "10 points behind" the competition because you have to "earn" your way back to zero. You have to earn your way back to the starting point where they are neutral in their evaluation of whether to trust you or not trust you.

Here's another huge issue for companies... their competitors. What if you happen to be in an industry where many of your customers don't trust your competitors? When this is the situation, often times you are lumped into the industry and "guilty by association" when it comes to trust. So regardless of whether or not you are doing the same things as your competition is doing, you are already distrusted. This is a very dangerous place to be... especially if one of your strengths is trust. Take the car dealer... what if you are one that your customers actually trust? You have an uphill battle because the industry is so polluted with unethical people... this is a much harder battle than many other industries.

What causes companies to send a message of TRUST?

Here are a few factors that cause a customer to immediately trust your company...

Every employee greets them (with every interaction) warmly, sincerely, and in a way that demonstrates interest, not sales

Employees immediately demonstrate an interest and caring for the person and their particular situation

Employees start by asking sincere questions that demonstrate immediately that they care more about the customer than the sale

They use simple words throughout to demonstrate they truly care... word like "help" and "please" and "thank you" and "resolving their issue/pain" and many others

Employees offer an experience that clearly demonstrates they care about the customer... whether or not they sell them anything or not

Leadership creates "different messaging" that causes the customer to break the "mind map" of the unethical companies to start fresh and see the difference

These are just a few of the ways that companies can create an environment of trust (almost immediately) with their customers. When an employee is tasked with HELPING rather than SELLING they come from a different place. They are armed with different tools to work with customers. And the customer can feel, sense, and recognize this difference. If you don't believe me, stop reading this as the leader of your company and go back and read this as a CUSTOMER and see if this isn't how you would feel after reading both lists again. There... now you are in the right mindset.

TRUST is so incredibly valuable today... it can make or break a business.

An example near and dear to me is when I worked for Arthur Andersen. I spent 8 years with the firm and they were incredibly wonderful years... I really loved working for this company. I left before their downfall so I wasn't there to experience the catastrophe first hand. However, when I worked for them they were one of the most trusted, ethical, and upstanding accounting/consulting firms in the world. Then something happened called Enron that immediately caused the public to DISTRUST them... the rest is history. Even when only a few were unethical, it took down the largest firm of the Big 5 because of one simple word... TRUST.

Losing trust is even more critical today and it can happen in an instant. Losing it can take your company down before you even realize it. I believe it is one of the greatest RISK FACTORS that exist for companies today more than anything else. You can have a faulty product and replace it and survive. You can deliver substandard services and immediately improve them and survive. But if you LOSE THE TRUST of your CUSTOMERS and EMPLOYEES... you are gone.

I would encourage every business leader to do a TRUST ANALYSIS of their company... starting with your customers. If you're not sure how to go about this, give me a shout and I can walk you through what this might look like for your company in your industry (B2C or B2B or non-profit). Regardless of how you do it, do it. Find out what the TRUST FACTOR is for your organization.

If it isn't where you want it to be, FIX IT IMMEDIATELY. Create a strategy and plan to remedy this ahead of all your other initiatives. This has some incredible OPPORTUNITIES embedded in it to really help you understand where you are with your customers. It will show you where you stand in relation to your competitors and it will give you a clear roadmap of what you want to address in the short term as well as the long term for your business.

Change the TRUST EQUATION and you will see some incredible rewards for your business. And the biggest area you can change to create this impact is your CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Once they see you truly care about them... even OBSESS OVER THEM you will see a marked difference in their level of trust from the first interaction.

And here's a bonus... CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT THOSE THEY TRUST. They also TALK ABOUT THOSE THEY DON'T TRUST... a lot... and this is not what you want. Word-of-Mouth is more powerful today than ever in our history. What are your customers going to say to other potential customers? Are they going to say they TRUST you or DON'T TRUST you... it's a matter of survival in today's Revolution.

If you found this helpful, please share it with your friends so they can also learn from the material. It not only means a lot to me but it helps other people see the story. And if this resonated with you, please visit my http://www.WOM10.com site and read more posts like this one.
